Running MC to EMT

So I have a bunch of extra MC cable 12-2 and 12-3 laying around. For most of my runs around the garage I ran the MC in the walls but now I need to get wiring to a new location and have a general question.

Is it OK to run the MC just laying in the girts (hidden from view) until I get to the point I need to install my boxes. Then from the boxes run EMT to the final outlets, switches, lights, fans?

I think part of the issue (extra material) with that would be I would need to run multiple MC runs over to this location as the lights would be 220 LED's and the fans are just 110 (DC) but considering I have the MC cable already it could make my life easier. The run from my panel to the point I'm talking about is about 140' total.

It is fine laying the mc in the girts, just use some MC one hole straps to hold them down. And transitioning over to EMT is fine. Here is one fitting you can use to transition. Or if you have multiple cables, just put a box.

Great...thanks for the link. I guess I over think things. Seems pretty common if they make parts for that.
