I'm just setting up for my concrete pour in Ontario Canada. The shop is stick build steel siding.

I'll be running. 150' of power from my house to my shop to put a 100A panel in.

Anyone know if I have to put a seperate ground into the pad or can I just pull the ground from the main panel?

I know how I did it when I put my sub panel in my shop..... But this was about 14 years ago and in a different country (USA) so I'm sure things are totally different. However, just for conversation sake.... I ran a ground condcutor from the main panel into the sub panel and ALSO installed a ground rod at the new sub panel location.

I was thinking of doing the same thing and then tie them together at the panel.

All you need in Canada is to run a ground from your main panel, no seperate for or otherwise are required.

correct, just need a ground back to the main panel, no other rods or anything required.
but
are you sure you need 100 amp? that's a lot for a home shop in most cases.
Running 2 240V hoists, 240V 80 gallon compressor and 175A welders.

how many people at a time will be a working in there? if its just 1, theres no way they could use all that power
Oh yeah. I'm well aware it's probably more than I could use. But between my son and I there is a possibility of a hoist being operated, a welder going and perhaps the compressor kicking in. That would be a fair amount of power.
