This past monday the openned a Rural King in Spring Hill Fl. I finally have one store instead of Tractor Supply, Northerm Tool, Local hardware store, HD or Lowes to drive around to find a part I need and only 10 mins down block. Ill still visit Crowders Bros hardware cause they do have some good stuff and very friendly. No more driveing hour to Northern, 45 mins to Harbor Frieght ( well maybe for another 44) 30 to Tractor Supply..... only to get frustrated they dont have in stock or by catalog only but ill still need HD and Lowes for lumber and some other things. Look at map and nearest one is 4 states away so feel pretty luck they picked us to put one. Thanks Rural King

I miss the Rural King we had in Terre Haute, but the Farm Kings around here are a nice substitute. Blain's Farm and Fleet in the Quad Cities is pretty good as well.

Love to get something similar in our area. What other farm/tool type chain stores are out there in the Midwest?. Thinking about sending out a letter inviting them:)

Rural King took over an old Kmart building so the place is HUGE! Pricing on alot of things is unheard of in this area. 3.99 for a 12oz can of R134!?! they are normally 5.99 or 6.99, Walmart is almost $10, and Advance and most Autozones are 14.99. Oil is way cheap too and they even have ammo! I also went for the opening day! May try to sneak back sometime today without the wife. She said she would take me back for my birthday to look around instead of going to Chuck E Cheeses.

yup, have one by me, love it. keep prices down by buying old closed dept. stores and screw shiny and pretty...bare floor, minimum staff, cheap shelves, and since the overheads low, prices are too.

TSC I haven't been to but farm and fleet I have a bone with (granted I used to work in the shop there so go figure) they're just as cheap corperate bastards as walmart. well maybe not quite but close (they don't actively try to screw people but they don't bat an eyelash if it happens). I think of it as more of a wannabe farm store. Like a big fancy mudding truck but when you look close it's waxed, there's not a dent or scratch on it, crappy welds on the parts, standard axles, base model engine, etc. A few things they have good deals on but 90% isn't better or cheaper than anywhere else.

I have not made it to it yet, but will this week sometime. I will get a case of to of r134.

The one time I went to Crowder I stopped in looking for a new revolver. They wanted about $100 more for a used SP101 then I paid for my new one from Bullseye in Brooksville. Prices on everything seemed pretty high.

Did an internet search a few days ago for an item and they had what i needed. Not one close to me(wish there was), but I ordered a couple of things from them today online. Seen they had a 30lb. bottle of r-134 for $80 on a special in-store buy.

Yup, Rural King pretty much puts TSC and the other box stores to shame for both price and quality on many things. I personally like them for selection as they carry things unheard of elsewhere. Locally here they even keep a stock of Farmall letter series gauges, emblems/decals, steering wheels, and other items.

We don't have a Rural King in Texas (that I know of). W e have Tractor Supply everywhere. We also have a store called McCoys that is a good place to ge. More to the HD or Lowes than TSC. Then there is a store called Atwood's. It's heaven on Earth. Great prices and you can get just about anything.

Yep here in the good ole midwest you get Rural King, Big R, TSC, Orscheln Farm and Home(actually worked at the local orscheln for a couple years), etc. All the good "country" stores. Toy stores for hillbillies like me. lol

We love our Rural King!

They have some great tool & tool chest sales - I just bought a Milwaukee 18V Li-Ion drill/driver combo kit less than $200, and last week they had a 72" tool chest for $800, top chest $400.

And who doesn't like free popcorn?

Awesome tool section and I like all of the stihl saws and weed wackers to drool over. Gotta love faygo moon mist for 2.50 a twelve pack. Faygo is fully endorsed by I.C.P. for the juggalos out there.

We have one, and while i agree that the prices are great the service *****. Mostly on equipment for the tractor. I just load my own stuff anymore then take the tag in for the cashier to scan. I did get an odd look from the manager setting a 3pt tiller on my flat bed with their forklift. He just asked do you need help? I replied oh no ive got it thanks.

are they full of cheap chinese **** like the other guys ?

Like everybody else - Milwaukee, Dewalt, Porter-Cable, Hobart, and their house brand cheap Chinese ****.

I've been drinking a lot of the 32 oz bottles of root beer for 79 cents all summer.

I'll hit Rural King occasionally when I make the trip to where it's at. I know they used to have a huge Milton selection there.

When we lived in Illinois, my wife and I would go and spend a half a day at Farm and Fleet and then go to Menards and go out to eat. That was always my favorite day out. I really miss that.

Living in Kentucky, we have TSC and Orscheln Farm Supply. There is a Rural King in Owensboro (about 60 miles) that we have been wanting to go to but just haven't had the time lately. How big is a Rural King store compared to a TSC store or a Farm and Fleet?

My buddy swears by them. I haven't been there yet. I go to the nearby Tractor Supply because it's closer. I thought that Farm & Fleet was better. Tractor Supply bought them out.
