Following your garage expansion - We did this in Italy when we lived there - our "garage" was originally the livestock stall next to the house (It was a newer home - for Italy - built in the 1840's), added a little over a meter width down one side, replaced the door, and raised the building up about 75cm. LOT of work, but it was worth it!
By the way - the 3rd floor addition is very nice! Thank you for sharing that.
That sounds (and looks) delicious... I'm going to have to try that. Is the smoker homemade? I'm studying the pictures, getting an idea how to build one of those myself!!
As a friend of mine says - "Any reason is a good reason to Barbecue".
My neighbor (who is from Nizhny originally) is teaching us the art of "Mushroom Hunting"... it's tricky as some of the best have of "false friends" (poisonous) that look similar. But the flavor of the store-bought ones are nothing like the "Real thing" from the wild!
And yes... I miss good Russian food (and excellent Russian beer!) and it's (sadly) not common here at all... We went with a tourist group 2 years ago to Moskva, Novgorod, Pskov, and Peterburg... (I started calling our group "the gaggle of Americans"

) and the first week or so we ate with the group - I call it "tour group menu", nothing spectacular, kind of bland... almost disappointing. I KNEW there had to be better!!!
We finally broke away from the group (best move we made) and started eating off the menu instead (and drinking Russian Beer!!

) - Absolutely stunningly delicious... (and the rest of the group had no idea what they were missing)...
Anyway, thanks for sharing a slice of your life, Welcome to the Garage... looking forward to reading more (and building a smoker now - thanks!!)
