Rust bullet help

Hi fellas

So rust bullet is having a pretty amazing sale today and I am thinking about pulling the trigger on it to do it in the spring (weather is a no go right now for the floor but the price is so good I want to get it now)

So my question is my shop is a 2 car with one side being extra deep my rough estimate of my square footage put me around 560SF so I was thinking that 4 gallons of rust bullet would be enough for 2 coats? does this sound accurate?

As far as clear goes do I need the same amount (4 gallons) as the regular rust bullet?

I am only trying to buy the rust bullet, solvent, and clear today since that's all they have on the website everything else I will order from LLC as the time gets closer to the spring when I pan to do the project. Any help here will be much appreciated. Thanks

I put three or four coats of RB on my 1000sf floor. I think I had ten gallons (two five gallon tins). You should confirm with Justin or RB tech that its product can sit that long without any trouble.

I didn't use any clear. Why are you going to use clear?

I wanted to put down flake so I figured that clear must be used with it, I want the floor to be protected and also smooth, granted I will be using some of the grip stuff shark grip or whatever its called since I am in Utah and the garage will be getting wet from snow on vehicles I don't want it to be a hazard.

Well time was running out so I just went ahead and ordered 4 gallons of RB and clear. I know that will at least do 2 coats. Pretty sure my spare footage estimate is a little off since my garage isn't perfectly square seeing as how only one side is a little deep, so Im hoping with 4 gallons of both i can get 3 coats for some good coverage with little defect. Thanks for the help.

I would go out to the garage and measure it out to be sure you are accurate on your estimate. Then, since you ordered last night, you could call Rust Bullet back (I'm assuming you are taking advantage of their site wide 40% off sale.) to modify your order if necessary.

One suggestion: ordering a 5 gallon bucket is the same price as ordering four 1 gallon cans. I would order the 5 gallon bucket and put down coat after coat until it's gone. More coats = higher mil thickness.

Thanks for the words of advice I'm pretty sure that I over bought on supplies (I always seem to no matter what the project) but like already stated more isn't necessarily a bad thing for this project, the price for 4 gallons of rust bullet and 4 gallons of clear was to good to pass up so I'm glad I went ahead with the purchase. Come spring I will do a write up and post a lot of pictures about my rust bullet experience to add to what others have already posted.
