Hi all,
I've been lurking for a while but figured it was time to start a post...
I added a new garage, 30x26, to my house last fall, along with a master above due to a new addition to the family. In the haste to get things done the garage floor finish fell by the wayside, but now that things are wrapping up I am looking to do something before winter. Concrete was poured and cut last September, power troweled, it was 4000psi fibermesh mix. No sealer was applied.
I'm thinking of using Rust Bullet mainly because of the lack of grinding/etching required, along with the cost of it. Is is true that there is no prep other than cleaning the concrete for RB?
I'll have to do the garage in 2 sections due to having stuff already moved in, so the being able to do half the prep at a time would be huge if its really as simple as just cleaning the floor vs grind/etch.
Any comments or suggestions or any other product to use? We primarily use it for parking daily drivers and my woodworking stuff.

Thanks

I haven't use RB but did my share of research, the concrete needs to absorb 1/4 cup water in 30 sec as per website. So that means the concrete has to be porous so the RB bites into it. If you have a power troweled slab it won't be so you need to etch or grind. Do the water test first, mine would hold water for like 5 min+.

I'm looking at doing the HD40 sealer with a densifier this will be a slightly glossy clear surface that shows the concrete through so no color. With a sealer basically wash the slab for prep. I'm using this in 2000 sqft RV storage and some metal fab. I have another 1000 sqft looking to do the RB or SPGX, using either one I will etch the slab.

Just had to grind my power trowled floor before my rust bullet install. You will most likely have to grind.

Thanks Guys. I'll have to look into the HD40 sealer a little more before deciding what to do. Looks like its either that or finding a grinder/vac to use to prep before a RB application.

off to do more research.

On a power troweled floor you will absolutely have to sand or etch the floor. They prefer you sand it to etch it. We have had success with both. I would look at the All Weather Floors polyurea product as well.
