rust on concrete - how to remove?

HI

I've had some rust stains end up on my concrete floor that resulted from the chains from my snow blower tires. The floor was sealed when it was poured 18 months ago. Anyway, I bought some CLR and followed the instructions to the letter and now what I have is a much cleaner area where the rust stains are (with absolutely no reduction in the rust stain) which essentially emphasizes the stain. Soo, CLR does not work.

Anyone have any other suggestions? If my description isn't clear, I'll post a pic but I think you get the idea.

Oh well... I was going to suggest CLR. Have you tried the powdered Oxiclean?

Could just cover the rest of the floor with rust.

Simple green and a wire brush. But, do not put a ton of pressure on wire brush or you will have a super clean spot and it will look like bleach stain in a dark color. It works well for me to spray water first, then spray simple green, let it sit 2 minutes, agitate with wire brush, then rinse.

Muratic acid is rather severe and can degrade the surface.

You'd be better with Evaporust, deck cleaner, Ro-Tyme (humidifier descaler) and others. Have other examples in the garage if you need them.

Believe the active ingredient is hydrochloric acid.

There is a chemical that is sold to golf courses to remove rust stains off concrete called Miracle rustaway toll free 1800 781 5202.
I used it on some rusty tools and it sure worked!
Good luck.
