Rusted stuff

I have a question on removing rust from a sandblasted surface. I am in slow process of a tractor restoration, parts were blasted and were fine for a few months in my garage. This winter I turned heat on at one point and conditions made the surface gather excess moisture and then rust.Tractor is mostly together and the front half has been painted.

The question I have is there any product available to wash surface and remove this rust prior to priming it?

I can try to get pictures of how bad later.

Thanks

There are any number of metal prep products out there you use to wipe down a part prior to painting, besides removing dirt and grease they also remove light surface rust. Check with your local auto body supply house or auto parts store, or simply google on 'metal prep'.

Scotchbrite and evapo-o-rust, which, I think, is phosphoric acid.

The auto body paint store sells something similar. My bottle had a DuPont label at one time.

White vinegar also does a nice job of removing light surface rust, just be sure to rinse thoroughly with water after.

Show pic. We scuff sandblastedvwith scotchbright prior to any paint anyway, it removes sand, knocks down hi spots that poke thru primers and smooth it. I never use any kind of prep ****, all that stuff makes a bigger mess than it solves.
When I was a kid and learning, reading and getting opinions I did, 35 years and hundreds of paint jobs I never do.
