I've mentioned getting this project started before, but finally finished the first phase. Had a rustic stamped concrete floor installed in the pole barn. The floor turned out beautiful. Now I've got some work ahead of me to repair some wood rot on the bottom edges of the barn walls.

Here's my inspiration for fixing up the outside of the barn

some wood rot that will need to be addressed. Anyone have thoughts on how to make a stone skirt/sill around the barn? I figure I'll need to trim the wood up about 1-2'

I let the barn sit empty for a week to allow the sealer more time to dry before putting heavy equipment on it. (That and I only get out there on the weekends, so I was antsy all week waiting to get back out to start setting up the barn workshop.)

Here's a pic of the Kubota on the floor. They look good together.

Heck yeah that 'Bota looks good on the 'crete. Nice!

I like your styles here. I'm building my pole garage/shop this year and want to make it look rustic from the get go... so I gotta decide how to side it. And get the wife to agree, lol.

I'm envious of your pole barn as well as your Kubota. I'm in the market for a compact tractor, can decide whether to pull the trigger on the price tag of a Kubota.

I also need a shed slightly smaller than your pole barn. You gave me some inspiration and great ideas.

Cool. I guess that means we'll soon get to see another 'barn build' thread. Post lots of pictures. Heck, start posting some drawings of your plans and let people help refine it. No matter how big it is, I guarantee everyone will tell you to make it bigger.

Though my barn was already built when I bought the property, I'm already wishing it was bigger.

P.S. My Kubota L3430 conveyed with my property. I had never operated a tractor before. Not only have I gotten pretty good with it, but I really love being on my tractor. It is probably bigger than I would have bought if I had to originally buy it, but now I wish it too was a little bigger, maybe an L4 series.

As I'm setting up the work area at my barn workshop, I'm reappropriating items from my home garage. I'm planning to take my Craftsman rolling combo tool chest, but can't figure out how to separate them for transportation purposes.

I don't see any bolts, clamps, etc that holds the top tool box on the rolling base tool chest. Any one familiar with this?

Figured it out. Correction...got them separated but still haven't figured it out. Not sure how it seemed so solidly attached before. I was lifting the entire combo chest from the top toolbox handles and they seemed welded together. Laid it down in back of truck and they gently came apart. Crazy.
