Hello,
Great forum. First post.
Working on coating my garage floor. Since my garage is really full, I decided to do the floor in two halves, 555 and 507 sqft. respectively. The plan is to double-coat and then top-coat with clear.
I purchased Rustoleum professional floor coating (solvent based 2-part epoxy), 4 sets in total. I will use 2 sets for each garage half.
The coverage according to the package is 300-400 sq per kit. However, the first coat will probably take more than then second coat.
So given the 555 sq.ft and two kits available, how much do I mix for the first coat and I'll use the balance for the second coat. I was thinking 110-120% of a kit for the first coat and 80-90% (the balance) of a kit for the second coat. Would that work?
The floor is double (some spots even triple) etched, but not ridiculously rough. It is quite new. About 150 grid sandpaper maybe.
If I do mix partial kits, do I go by volume or weight?
Thanks!
