Hi,

We’re about to finish construction on our new RV garage. The dimensions are 19’ wide, 30’ deep, with a vaulted ceiling of 16’ and side wall height of 14’. It is all drywalled with white eggshell paint. We’re going to paint the floor in a grey gloss paint.

We’re going to park a 26’ Airstream in the middle with some shelves on the side. It will be used mostly for storage.

Does anyone have recommendations on LED lighting? I was thinking of running two rows the length of the garage about 2-3’ away from the sidewalls.

Thanks!

I recently posted about my experience with some 8' long LED lights I got on-line from Omni-Ray Lighting. They have the capability to be connected end-to-end like one long strip, up to 4-5 in a row I think? I currently have 5 out of 30 mounted in my shop, and so far I've been happy with the light output.

I wasn't too impressed with the mounting clips provided with the lights but they work okay... I just wish they were a bit more robust. The 10" long pig tail for the wiring leaves something to be desired, too. Thankfully, they offer longer pig tails with/without plugs to connect to an outlet, but at an added cost. I'm not sure if you were looking to hard wire them, or just mount an outlet and plug them in? Here's the link with the various wiring options that are available for them:

Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

Good price for the limited amount you need to buy... for the money, it might be worth a shot to try them out. Thanks for sharing the link... I'm sure others will benefit from it.

Thanks Mark! I'm trying to decide between the frosted 8' Omni-Ray Lights and the 8' LedMyPlace lights. These are $100 cheaper for 10.

I hope you went that route instead of Omni-Ray. My first failure was right out of the box. I still haven't received a promised replacement light from the one that arrived faulty and only after three attempts I have today received a very condescending email from the owner. In addition I've had another failure, one of the unacceptably thin gauge clips that hold the fixtures has broken so I had to take it down to keep it from falling. I'm now at a 50% failure rate and have zero resolution so far. I would recommend not doing business with Omni-Ray lighting, if you have a failure they will not stand behind their product in a timely manner!
