Bought this battery last summer. It sat all winter can't get it to charge. I've done Google search watched all the video. And can't get it to work. I bought it to have an extra battery for a fan. I'm using the fans battery charger to try to charge the battery. With no luck. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

Are the charger and the battery compatible?

I have several chargers and batteries from ryobi (nicad and li-ion) and had one li-ion not charge on a "smart" fast charger. Put it on one of the cheap single chargers and low and behold it charged.

While the li-on battery will hold a charge for a long time, it does drain. If it drains too low, the charger will decide it's defective. I learned the hard way, after going two years without charging one. I now make sure my 12 Ryobi and 13 Milwaukee batteries are part of a rotation. None go more than maybe two months without a charge, but they can go much longer, though i think 6 months is all I'd push that now.
