I am looking for a pressure washer after my Generac 6022/5989 2,700 PSI 2.3 GPM pump blew up about a year a ago. I used pump saver every time I used the pressure washer which was a total of maybe 5 times in 3 years. (not sure why the pump failed really kinda annoyed with the whole thing)

Either way I pretty much just need to clean my sidewalk, remove mud from my Side by side, clean the boat and other around the house stuff. Anyone happen to have this Ryobi model? Do you like, it does it have power?

Thanks!

If you would consider a smaller unit for around the house work, I have the Ryobi 1600 for cleaning sidewalks and house siding and decking.

It's small and very portable. The price is low and the unit does a great job for simple cleaning around the house. Being electric, maintenance is low.

You can store it on a shelf and carry it to the site without difficulty.

I did purchase the Ryobi rotating brush for very dirty sidewalk cleaning and with that it cleaned about 30 feet of sidewalk in about 15 minutes. Not very fast but then it was a simple job.

I don't know anything about the Ryobi pressure washer, but I would suggest calling Generac and talking with their customer service dept. They may not do anything for you, but then again, they might. It doesn't hurt to call and inquire and who knows? You may be pleasantly surprised.

I did a few times, wanted me to ship the unit to service then pay for repair.

The sidewalk cleaners are great, I have a briggs and stratton one I used with the Generac was hoping to use it with the next pressure washer. Ill look into some smaller ones.

Just got the 1750 electric unit Ryobi. Used it to clean back of house siding and deck. Worked well but there are a few things not so nice about it. Wand is too short and has no bend to it for easier cleaning. The spray nozzle included is too small a fan and there is no down stream attachment, you have to allow the soap to go through the pump. I did use my own 25 degree spray tip and to inject soap and clorax to the siding I used my X-jet. I will keep it for small jobs but will try to get a quick connect adapter to hook my wand to the hose they supply.

I had one before it was lost in my fire. It is a good tool for around the house use. At times I used it hours on end during the work day. Cant beat it for the price.

Well bought it today to clean up the side by side worked pretty well. There is a difference between gas from a water flow perspective. I'll test this this with my side walk cleaner soon which will determine if I keep it or not. Overall it's super quiet and the button on off thing is pretty great compared to my generac.

My genrac pump also went kaput. Talked to the service manage at the repair place and he told me the light duty pumps they use can't handle the pressure build up when you are not spraying, but leave the motor running. Said to always shut the motor off when you aren't spraying. So I bought a replacement pump on amazon and always shut the motor off and so far the second pumps is still going strong.

That is crazy which is pretty much how mine blew up. I let it idle for all of a 2 minutes and BAM!. Water started to spray everywhere. Honestly I thought all pumps went into bypass which keeps from generating a ton of pressure. How much did you get your Genrac pump for?

Thanks!

Well didnt work well with the surface cleaner, going to contact Ryobi however not sure if they can do anything about it. Also the "Turbo" nozzle works ok, still not great and when your wanting to clean a drive way a surface cleaner is the way to go to keep everything uniform.

The right side of the image is what the surface cleaner did. (didnt really spin up to the right speed at all) then the left is the turbo nozzle.

You might have to change the nozzle tips for the surface cleaner as they may be too large an orifice. Check with an nozzle grid for proper size. Again turbos are sized to psi and water flow.
I am sure the unit you have does not have 2.3 gpm like your old one had and I think you said it was 2300 psi

I think that might be the issue really, the odd thing is that the recommendation from Ryobi is to use AEZ31023 which is 2.3 gallon and up to 3200 psi. Kinda confused might buy another surface cleaner and see if it works better.

Hi, Rob- We recommend the gas version of the surface cleaner (model AEZ31023) for use with the 2300 PSI Electric Pressure Washer, since the PSI is comparable to gas units. We hope this helps!

That new surface cleaner might have different nozzles, or they may be facing at a different angle for the sweep. Is your bar in your present cleaner spinning freely by hand with no power to it? The water flow will make it spin. Do the nozzles seem to be at a slight angle when they turn?

Yea it was spinning, the jets are slightly angled nothing crazy. Before with the old washer is would like hover off the ground, with the current washer didnt do that.

Well in the end I returned the pressure washer and just bought a new pump. Overall if you dont need to clean a sidewalk I think it would work well, however that was a deal breaker for me.
