These saws are very nice for the money! I purchased one when they were on special and I was "skeptical" on how it would perform but now I am glad I purchased it.

Nice.

Maybe move it to the HD deal thread?

It's a one day deal. They semi-regularly get their own thread to make sure people see. Many people have voiced fustration over the content of the "HD Clearance" thread and say they don't like the non-deal talk. Also that is geared towards clearance items which are much more of a miss than a hit when looking for, so not as available to everyone as the one-day deals are.

You are more than welcome to re-post in that thread, but just like eBay coupons, some users never check those threads because of what the "usual" content is

How robust is the chain tensioning mechanism? My 2nd biggest complaint of a DeWalt 40v was that part of the saw.

This is a decent saw for the money..... NOT a Stihl (Battery) saw but it works well. The tensioning mechanism is "typical Ryobi" meaning it works but is NOT "robust" and will need adjustment as you use the saw. For $119 this saw is a must have "IF" you you have a yard with trees and don’t have a gas saw. I own a 25 year old Stihl 026 gas saw along with a newer MS180 and MS391 for cutting trees.

I keep this saw on my UTV for quick cuts on fallen trees and limbs..... DO NOT expect this saw to do heavy wood cutting but for light work it performs well.

I am liking Ryobi products more and more as I buy these "inexpensive" tools as a back up to my battery Milwaukee tools.
