I have not changed batteries, this is on the list for today. I LOVE The opener but hate its range to use the remote. It is in a steel building but it seems I need to be within 15' of the door for it to operate. Id love to double that so it can be opened as I drive up, not pull up and then open.

Changing the batteries would be a good start. If that dosnt gain you range you may need to extend the antenna outside of the building.
Did it ever have a longer range?

Brand new, used the new batteries that came with it. Antenna not readily extendable as it is simply a short whip of wire. Love the opener and the way it functions just need another 15' of remote range.

Any LED bulbs in the area? They can interfere with garage door remotes.

On an older Craftsman opener I had, there was a ~18" wire antenna on it. I spliced on 3' of 18AWG wire to it and it easily doubled the remote range.

I would put a few feet (or maybe 10+ feet) of cable onto the antenna, and run the antenna perpendicular to the garage door, don't "point" the antenna towards the door.

People will say the antenna needs to be a certain length and tuned to the right frequencies, blah blah blah, and there's some truth in that, but you should gain range by extending the antenna.

Is the antenna soldered to the control board or is there a connector on the opener housing?

As someone who use to work for a microwave radio shop as a radio tech and electrician, i can say that is TRUE.

We use to get antennas with no labels and would have to sweep them to figure out what frequency they are designed for.
