I just got 2 of these. I'm hoping they add IFTTT.com support via firmware update in the future. This would allow you to do some cool things and automate some stuff. Also allow you to integrate with other Smart Home Automation technologies and hubs like SmartThings, Wink, HomeSeer, Automatic, Hue, Nest, etc.

You could have the garage door automatically open and turn the lights on when you arrive. No button press needed.
Have the garage door automatically close at 10PM in case you forgot to close it.
Automatically arm your alarm system when you close the garage door in the morning. (and/or disarm it in the evening when you open it).
Opening the garage door when your alarm system is armed would trigger the alarm (currently you have to purchase and install a separate garage door sensor for your alarm).
Possibilities are endless.

If you are interested in having them add IFTTT.com support, send Ryobi an email asking them to add a Ryobi IFTTT channel here

Same problem here. Solved by putting a fresh battery in the outdoor opener.

My theory is that the signal was too weak to actually get through when the door was down, in the way.

I will update my post from almost 2 yrs ago, although I believe by now its a moot point. The opener is still working like the day it was installed. I am very happy with it and was planning on getting another until I saw on here they stopped selling them. My trip to HD confirmed that. I am a little disappointed. This is the quietest opener I have ever owned. But, I have only owned craftsmen and chamberlain. I am a Gen Contractor and usually stay away from Ryobi tools as I believe they are geared towards the homeowner and not built as well as Milwaukee or Makita which we use and abuse daily. Only accessory I have is the laser pointer park light which is great as it keeps my wife from destroying the front of her Mustang. IMO, the others were just gimmics. The light on the opener is 1000% better than the lights on the other openers, and is plenty bright. More than good enough to see your way through the garage when coming home after dark. I have other led's in the garage so I don't need it for total lamination. The only thing I don't like is that it flickers, I guess as a safety warning, when the door is first activated. To me its a bit annoying. I wish they still made them, I would def. buy 4 more.

Steller garage door opener! I've had two installed for over two years and both get used everyday. Very quiet (the noise I hear is actually the creaking and noises from the door itself) and also like the soft-close at the end.

I added the Bluetooth Speaker, the Electric Retractable Cord and Laser Park. I'm going to add the Retractable Air Hose next. Haven't added a battery, but I suppose that would be a nice feature to have if the power to the house ever goes out.

On that point, I know the door opener uses standard Ryobi batteries and they're not cheap because they exhibit a capacity required for handheld tool operational duration. However, the amount of capacity that would be required to open and close a garage door just a few times until home power is restored is much smaller and I would propose that lower cost batteries with much less capacity could be made for this purpose.

Further, given the fact that these batteries would always be connected to an electrical source and would maintain 100% capacity, rarely going through a discharge/recharge cycle due to a power outage, a lower-cost battery technology could be used (i.e., wouldn't benefit from the superior discharge/recharge cycle capabilities of lithium ion, nor the lower weight to capacity benefits).

My one complaint is, I don't believe there is Google Home/Assistant support yet. Is anyone aware if that does exist or is coming soon? I do not see "Ryobi"ncluded in the vast list of supported devices in Google Home.

However, with that said I have an Orbit B-Hyve sprinkler clock which isn't listed either, but found out recently that you can talk to Google on the Google app and ask it to connect your Orbit account which it then displays username and password fields to log on to your Orbit account. Then the sprinkler clock can be controlled via voice commands through Google Home.

However, you address it with "Hey Google, talk to Orbit B-hyve" which then passes voice control over to Orbit (literally a different voice comes on) which then asks what you want to do with the sprinkler clock. There are many supported commands and a common one that I use is turning a particular station on for a certain number of minutes so I can check the heads. But you can also ask it when the next scheduled watering is, you can reprogram the clock, you can set a rain delay, etc., etc.

On a side note, the Orbit clock does not show up in the controlled devices listings in Google Home. So this is some kind of gateway that's in Google Home which merely passes voice control off to a particular device.

Anyway, I'm wondering if maybe Ryobi might support Google Home automation in this manner. By the way, Ryobi uses a 3rd-party development entity for its garage door app and I presume it is them who would have to add this capability.

Well, I know this is an old thread, but the LED lights on my Ryobi GDO finally went out completely. One bank has been dead for over a year, the other has been slowly dying, flickering, only half lighting, and now only 3 LEDs dimly lit. I don't think it's the LEDs themselves, but the rest of the circuit that can't handle the constant "flashing" when it closes and the vibration.

Any ideas on how to jury-rig an LED setup in its place??

Interesting idea, but as soon as I saw that it was Ryobi, no thanks.

Can't imagine trusting my garage door every time I need it to, to open to a company that produces the very bottom of the line budget power tools...
hahaha, I tried a ryobi grinder and drill (120v) , both went in the dumpster in short order.
