Haven't seen this posted, so forgive me if it's an Enzo.*

HD has the Ryobi One+ P108 4Ah batteries in a BOGO deal "while supplies last."

Two batteries for the price of one ($99.00)! Got mine today.

* Enzo = The re-posting or re-use of a prior idea, thread, news article, etc. It is derived from numerous threads started about various Ferrari Enzo crashes that occurred.

Yup, pretty fantastic deal on them - these are the full-size newer style Lithium+ batteries. $50/each is pretty smokin' hot.

Don't forget "HDHOLIDAY" to knock off another $5.

They also have a single battery for $55, with the coupon above that brings it down to $50

Right now I'm looking for a Ryobi One lithium ion battery charger, because my old one stopped working after getting moisture in it. If anyone knows of a good deal on one, I'd be interested.

edit: this looks like it might be the ticket: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AGI33AU/?tag=atomicindus08-20

Great deal. Unfortunately it shows 'out of stock' online and zero stock at my closest store. I'll keep watching.

That's a P107 Lithium+ Compact battery. The BF deal was for the full-size batteries (P108 x 2).

Not a horrible price.

If you need more batteries, sometimes a tool combo is the way to go - if you factor the cost of batteries and a charger, quite commonly, the tool is essentially a freebie in the box.

Swing by the store to check - I don't know if the deal will still be available (assuming they have any), but I do know that the vast majority of the Black Friday specials were NOT inventoried or available for sale online, instead telling you that there were limited quantities and to check the store.

Actually, these definitely WERE available to buy online at this same price on Thanksgiving day in the morning. I know because I bought a set that way with free shipping on Thanksgiving morning. I did this basically to be certain I would be able to get a set. I did end up going to HD on Black Friday and they did have some there I could have just bought then, but to be sure, and not to miss out, I just ordered mine early. I'll get them in the mail in a couple more days. This did not work on certain HD items but did work on these. Some things were in store only so those you could not buy early. These you could. Useful to know for next year. Some other stores are doing this same thing. It can be good to buy online then pick up in store or buy online and ship to home instead of running around on BF early morning scrambling to get to each place you wanted to buy just one or two things. By doing this, I optimized my BF and went to only 3 stores on BF itself. - Paul

Good to know - when I looked Thursday evening, a couple of things were available for shipping or store pickup, but most weren't (including the batteries, at that time).

Not a big deal for me, though - I try to contain my BF excursions to a single store, rather than attempting to get to multiple stores, since it's usually futile to attempt to go for multiple store doorbusters anyhow.

Also helped that nobody else really had much I wanted - I'm all stocked up on home electronics and similar gadgets. :D

As someone mentioned, sometimes a tool combo is a cheaper way to get an extra battery.

I bought the cordless impact driver a week ago (tool only) and figured I'd just use my nicads for the time being.
I saw the two battery deal but couldn't justify $100 and a new charger.
I'm moving and selling my 3 acres and downsizing to a normal subdivision house/lot and saw the ryobi cordless weed eater with charger and large li-ion battery for $75.
I felt that was a better deal than stand alone batteries.

Online stock isn't accurate in North Olmsted Ohio. Said was out of stock but had 4! Glad I checked.

Nice, apparently 12 in stock at mine and pretty much all my original black and yellow batteries are toast so I need to upgrade.

I use these A TON. Wife got the charging bank as a gift a few years ago, and it's the most used tool in the garage. These new lithium batteries are better than the first generation lithiums, and light years ahead of the NiCad ones. Ryobi tools might not be the top tier, but they are by far the best value, especially considering the number of tools they work with.

I also really like the tool compatability.

I walked out of my local HD today kicking myself for not getting a pair of these while they were in stock yesterday. Checked on line any no store had any... Like anywhere. Called the next closest store just to be sure and they had some is stock! Will be using these as part of a fence build project in the spring.

They are night and day better than the NiCads.

However, as the NiCads slooowly grind to a halt, the Lithium batteries just STOP, so you don't know when you're running out of juice. It's a little WTF? the first time you experience it, but you just need to throw it on the charger and all is good.

make sure you pick up a charger capable of charging lithium batteries. The old NiCad chargers will kill your new batteries. The new dual chemistry chargers will charge both NiCad and Lithium.

My local store is out but they are still available in the area so I will probably be picking them up.
I've been on the fence about getting Milwaukee or Bosch. It will probably cost as much for batteries and a charger as it would for the Milwaukee m18 2601-01 I picked up, and an extra set of batteries. I think I'm just not keen on throwing away the ryobi tools I have. They've been pretty useful for the money but my nicad batteries have all gone to **** like everyone else's. maybe these batteries can get me through until the brushless/LI stuff gets cheaper. Probably just be something else latest and greatest then :lol_hitti

Are these batteries a lot better than what comes packaged with their tools? I bought the impact driver and drill set that used to go on sale for 99 bucks sometime this year, and I think that package comes with P102 batteries. I honestly don't use them a lot, so these may be overkill.

Yes, most definitely.

The P102 is a compact 1.5Ah battery.

The P122 2-pack BF deal contained (2) of the P108 4Ah batteries. More than double the life.

For what it's worth, here's a quick breakdown of the batteries that have been available for the 18V One+ line:

P100 (and various other model numbers used prior to standardizing the product lineup - NiCad - 1500mAh / 1.5Ah

P102 - Li-Ion - 1200mAh / 1.2Ah (Compact)

P103 - Li-Ion - 1300mAh / 1.3Ah (Original), 1500mAh / 1.5Ah (Newer) (Compact)

P104 - Li-Ion - 2600mAh / 2.6Ah

P105 - Li-Ion - 2400mAh / 2.4Ah

P107 - Li-Ion - 1500mAh / 1.5Ah (These are the "Lithium+ batteries with the fuel gauge) (Compact)

P108 - Li-Ion - 4000mAh / 4.0Ah (These are the "Lithium+ batteries with the fuel gauge)

-----

P101 - 2-pack of P100's
P109 - 2-pack of P107's
P122 - 2-pack of P108's
P129 - Lithium-Ion "Upgrade" Kit - P102 battery and P117 Dual-Chemistry Charger (I'v eseen these recently on my local store's shelf, beware that these may be an OLD battery)

-----

As far as age of these go:

Previous varied NiCad models - 1st Generation
P100 - 2nd Generation
P102/P105 - 3rd Generation
P103/P104 - 4th Generation
P107/P108 - 5th/Current Generation

-----

I haven't seen kits with the P107/P108 in them, but they may exist. Most kits sporting the Lithium-Ion batteries have had the P103 compacts in them.

Yes. The litium+ batteries increase tool performance. It makes all the difference in my saws.

That chart is a bit misleading as far as runtime goes.

You'll notice the "up to" in tiny little letters there. Assuming a brand new P100 NiCad at 1.5Ah, a brand new P108 Li-Ion at 4.0Ah, that's only 2.6x better.

A P100 and a P107 have the same rating - 1.5Ah - yet they're saying that it's "up to 135% more runtime" or whatever.

Certainly, the P108 is the best battery you can buy for these at the moment (ignoring areas where NiCad is a better choice than Li-Ion), but it's not a 400% improvement in runtime unless you're factoring in an old decaying P100.

The older P102's were black, where the newer ones are more silver, resembling the "Lithium+" P107's. Do your batteries have a fuel gauge on them? If not, they're "normal" Lithium-Ion.

My Dad wanted a impact driver about a year or two back, and I was in the market for a couple of batteries, so we went in together and bought the kit when it was on sale for $99.99 - as a bare tool, the driver was around $70 (different model, but still the same kinda thing), while a single battery P102/charger "upgrade" kit was $60ish. Dad got the driver, I got the batteries and the charger.

The batteries in that kit were silver P102's - thought they were Lithium+ myself.

Liked them enough that I bought a 2-pack of the P107's for $99 about 6 months ago. I don't really regret that purchase, but I think I probably could have waited for this year's BF deal. :D

I'm pretty sure that my batteries are black, but they could be gray or silver. I'm pretty sure they have no gauge. I bought my set this year, sometime, when it was on sale for 99 bucks. It came with an impact driver, a drill, two batteries, a charger, a case a couple of attachments, like a Phillips screw head maybe.

It looks like the P108's are compatible with my charger.

I've already spent several hundred bucks over Thanksgiving for some Gladiator garage stuff and some shelving. What's another 100?

Yup - All Li-Ion batteries are compatible with all Li-Ion chargers, just make sure you avail yourself of the recall if you have the P113.

The P117 is yellow, too, if I'm not mistaken, but it's not part of the recall.
