Ryobi tool warranty

I have 2 Ryobi tools that need warranty, one mower and one inflator. I tried taking them back to home Depot but they said they don't do warranty, and I should call Ryobi.

I tried calling Ryobi and just sat on hold for 20+ minutes each time. Is this a deliberate plot to avoid warranty claims? Has anyone successfully managed to warranty Ryobi tools and how?

I sent a sawzall back to Ryobi for warranty thru Home Depot a couple of years ago. Home Depot charged me for shipping then refunded it when I picked up the warranty replacement.

I got a duplicate receipt sent to me from HD so Dad could warranty an inflator. It was some effort, but worked out.

Yes I did warranty a battery during the beginning of C19, I was on hold for a long time , but they did ultimately send ME a new battery.
It was a hassle.

See if there is a local service center.
There's a one-man lawn mower repair shop near me. He mostly works on commercial lawn equipment as consumer grade stuff usually isn't worth repairing (his words). I found him because he's a service center for Ridgid power tools and has provided wonderful service for me - usually repairing stuff in less than 24 hours or submitting it to Ridgid for replacement if it can't be repaired. He is also a Ryobi service center and maybe some other brands.

I burned up a sawzall within 6 months of purchase. I went back to Home depot and was told by the staff that their period is 90 days and I would have to start a warranty claim. Depot gave me the information and sent me on my way. After several failed attempts to get in touch with a human from the planet earth who could actually speak some degree of English I went back to home depot. I spoke with the manager and got the run around. I finally looked the manager in the eye and said " Ryboi is an "exclusive HD product", if you're not willing to help me, why do you carry a product that you will not honor their warranty? After more verbal exchanges, I was able to convince the manager to let me grab one off of the shelf and do a "defective return"
