If you're only looking at those two, it's a no brainer. Get the Ryobi. Chances are sears will die soon enough and no one knows what week happen with the C3 line while Ryobi has shown a long history of maintaining the platform and even expanding it.

In the cordless line, I've got ryobi, craftsman, and porter cable. In the future, I'll continue with ryobi. Major reason is the consistent backwards battery compatibility.

My porter cable impact and drill still works well, except the new tools are no longer compatible. My craftsman impact still works well, except the line was also discontinued.

My ryobi stiuff is newer, no problems here. I have the hedge trimmer, string trimmer, blower, inflator, 18g nailer, 16g nailer, crown stapler, multi tool, reciprocating saw, orbital sander, a light, 1/2" impact.

The only brand that did not agree with me was black n decker.

Arch and Duck.....not alone....I too am a Ryobi fan. I think it's the best cordless tool for the $$.

My two drills are about 10 years old. They built a 2-story garage and the 2-story addition to my house.

1 Sawzall (I use the dog **** out of it as well) My only complaint, I wish it didn't have the safety switch.
If you unscrew both case halves and split it apart, you can see how the plastic switch can be removed and bypassed.......I mean, the safety switch can easily fall out and accidentally be stepped on multiple times until it's no longer functional to reinstall. That's what I did......er, happened to my Ryobi sawzall. Love it for pruning branches with a Diablo pruning blade.
