One of my 4 Ryobi batteries stopped charging so I went to Home Depot last night to ask about a replacement while still under warranty. An extremely hot (don't tell my wife
)customer service agent said I needed to contact Ryobi for help.
I called Ryobi this morning and 20 minutes later they are mailing me a new battery without any prove whatsoever that my current battery is damaged other than my word. They don't want the old battery back, they said to recycle it.
That's it. The lady who I spoke to on the phone was easy to deal with. She asked for the models and S# of the battery, charger and tool and that was it. Awesome!
She said it will be no longer than 14 days before I see the new battery and wished me a good weekend.
Really good of Ryobi to make warranting an item so simple. I primarily use the brand for home stuff and will continue to do so.
PS: I learned last night that Ryobi and Milwaukee (along with a bunch of other known brands - lots of vacuum cleaner ones) are all owned by the same company - TTI. Considering I use Milwaukee for work and abuse the **** out their tools, I'm glad Ryobi is related to that.
