I have a 1/4" set including a ratchet and they are good, however, I still rate Ko-ken and KTC higher though in terms of finish and overall quality.
My first S.E.K purchase was made in Japan. I bought a few Torx bit sockets in various sizes for bolts in my car door. I still have these too. I have no complaints - they did the job but they just don't ooz quality by looking at them like other Japanese sockets I own.

I have a SEK roto ratchet, 40t round head flex stubby and 72t teardrop flex head spark plug ratchet with bent handle. I also have some 3/8" knurled extensions and socket adapters. The ratchets have the lowest best set back drag I've ever used on an off the shelf ratchet and the tools appear to be high quality. I wonder if SEK is a lable of Japanese tools only sold in Australia? Know one seems to have heard of them elsewhere. I'd love to know who the OEM is behind SEK or whether they are indeed their own manufacturer. They are generally only sold by tool-truck guys or high equity tool stores.

There damn fine hand tools up with the other Jap tool co's but due to them not having a big following or being heavily marketed you can often buy them at close-out prices. I downloaded their catalogue a while ago and was surprised of the extent of their range. The swivel sockets and universals looked particularly nice.

Maybe a bit late to the party, but it seems that a lot of SEK tools are sold under the "Pro-Auto" brand in Japan.

There socket extensions are super nice, long knurled section, well finished and fit very well. The ratchets I have I'd rate as good as the other big names in Japan. I think they made socket set for Kincrome before they went Taiwan. The 1/2 set I have were made in Japan.....very nice half chrome half satin sockets. Extensions that are swivel then also lock, thought is put into the tools they produce.
