Recently received in the mail, and pulled it apart as soon as I got it (naturally!)

However, I'm wanting to know, can this internal piece be disassembled further at all?

The piece with the lever can be pulled out (there's a spring & plunger that need's to be depressed) and the top pin comes out freeing the pawl. It can be a bit tricky putting it back together but a vise helps alot. the spring & plunger will need to be depressed to put the lever piece back in. The pawl & pin go in first.

They have these part's in the repair kit. The rebuild kit is the entire assembly w/ retaining ring.

Move the direction lever to the middle of it's travel and pull it striaght out. But watch the detent pin and spring may come flying out! Best trick is to do it in a plastic bag to contain the flying parts.

Honestly, as clean as that one appears to be, I'd just add a few drops of oil to the mechanism, a little light lube on the teeth, and call it a day if it isn't seized up.

Watch out. i lost the spring and pin out of one the other day. Have no idea where it went. That is why i keep parts ratchets.

This is not how the SK instructions say to do it. I haven't tried your method, but I think you may be thinking of a different ratchet design.

I scanned the factory instructions a while ago. Here's a link to a PDF of it:

To the OP-

From my experience, it's not worth it to disassemble the mechanism beyond this point. I usually just drop the entire mechanism in my ultrasonic cleaner or scrub it a little. You can use a can of penetrating oil or brake cleaner to blast any gunk out of the inside of the mechanism.

It's tricky to get the mechanism apart/back together, and it's easy to lose parts.

I've owned at least 30 of these SK ratchets, all purchased used, so I've definitely spent a good amount of time cleaning them.

Admittedly I have only taken apart two SK ratchets but IIRC this trick worked well on both.
