S-K SOCKETS School me

Hello all,
I have acquired a collection of S-K sockets from actions and yard sales. some are labeled S-K ( some appear to be tapered at the working end others not ), S-K Tools, S-K Wayne ( some with knuckling on others not ).
Most are 12 pts, 1/2 drive , and shallow. What's the difference, older, better, more sought after, ext.
Also have a salad of New Brighten, Walden, Pronto, Bonny, Power Kraft, Globe Master, Williams, Armstrong, MAC. Just a few of each. Any interest?

I have a 1/4" and 3/8' drive set of SK sockets and ratchets. I've had to replace several of the sockets and the ratchets. IMHO SK is nothing special.

Armstrong, SK, Williams were the "go to" for factory maintenance men for years. Everything else came after!

I'm not an S-K expert, but as I recall:

plain bands on the socket is the most recent production.

knurled bands on the sockets is earlier production.

S-K Wayne was only a brand between about 1962-1969 (?)

earlier tapered-wall sockets were later replaced with straight-wall sockets.

SK, SK wayne, SK Dresser, SK Facom, SK, bankrupt, SK Ideal. I think I have it straight. Actually before the SK name appeared on the market , they made pieces for other manufacturers. During the first independent period they partnered with some wrench company whose name I have forgotten.

I have never had anything SK fail and SK is what I used to make a living. My oldest sockets and ratchet are SK. My Dad bought them in Medicine Hat, AB on December 15, 1945. They still work well. I think I have SK sockets from just about every iteration of the brand. Almost all of my wrenches, snap-ring pliers and screwdrivers are SK. My HAZET screwdrivers are special, to me. Hazet make some of the best snap-ring tools.

I haven't been around long enough to know all the generations of SK, but I own several of tools from​ the current Ideal Industries generation which is fairly new(2010). I can't really say much bad about them. Ideal Industries had some QC issues when they started, but they have been good about honoring their warranty and improving as they go. I've been hearing less and less about their QC issues so they must be getting them fixed. Bottom line is I think they are the best tools out there for the hobbiest who wants good quality tools or for the budget conscious professional. I was looking g for a new go-to brand after Craftsman went overseas and SK is where I finally landed; I couldn't be happier.

As far as identification is concerned, the latest generation of SK sockets are not chrome plated on the inside.
