What soured me on them was I bought a S-K paddle type 3/8" air impact, which was a complete POS, and the auto parts store that was their warranty representative, wouldn't do anything about making it right.

SK does not have warranty representatives other than the company itself. Anyone that can open an account with one of the big tool wholesale dealers can sell SK and there are no obligations to handle a warranty beyond whatever governmental regulations may apply to a business selling anything else.

As a service to their customers, many dealers will swap broken tools for new, and handle the warranty exchange with SK for their customers, but they are not obligated to do this. Their only obligation is to pay the wholesale dealer for their stock. They can offer any level of service that they see fit.

I have heard that SK's direct warranty performance is good, but it could have changed lately. I haven't heard much in a couple years.

I warrantied a small bag of tools just after New Years. They warrantied everything with new but, it took about a month to complete the transaction.

I sent in a couple items and am getting them slowly...a piece here, a piece there. I'm at a month now waiting on more stuff...but they've always been good about giving new tools. There has never been any questions.

SK's warranty is really good in my experience, but they seem to have a lot of items on backorder, which causes delays.

Yep, 1/4" ratchet has been on backorder...but I guess it is a good excuse for a couple extras. :)
