What is the infatuation???? I understand some people like the color, but seriously they jack the prices up on tools because of the color.

Look at this dead blow set on ebay?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Snap...tive_Tools&hash=item1c1d476bc4#ht_7200wt_1165

I look at tools for usage, not necessarily the color, if it's a deal I'll buy it no matter the color, I just saw a soft grip 8 pc green sd set go for like $210 new............I was like OMFG!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yeah...it's a little scary how high some of the green stuff goes for. Seen many 24 and 32 oz dead blow hammers go for double the retail that you can still get them for from Snappy's website. That 8 pc screwdriver set earlier this week was just stupid. what's even worse is what the blue stuff goes for at times. I mean, it's a nice color and all but holy ****!
but it is true about the discontinued stuff. as soon as anything (SO tools, original barbie dolls, old coca cola machines, etc etc) gets discontinued, people go crazy for it and are willing to put themselves in the poor house just to get it. to each his own, I guess!

I'm kinda the same way about the collector s/d sets........But even I have a limit. I have the red 70th ann set in red, got it new for $70 new. A while back same set in green went for $225.............I was like not.

You can say the same about the hard handle infatuation, it's a fad and when snappy brings green back ten fold, all the people will be scratching their heads and going ****!!!!!!!!!!

Ive recently aquired the taste for some Green Goodness, Alot of the Crazy Ebay Auctions recently have been for actual Current Production Items. Thats what makes me scratch my Head.. I think alot of that is because the Snap on Website doesnt make it easy to find those items. It wont show up in the Categories, But if you put the proper Part number in.. ****... There it is.

I'm kinda glad I picked orange as my color of choice for hardhandled stuff. Some of the "collectors" think it's too "pedestrian" as a lot of it is still in production. I simply picked it because it's my all time favorite color. That, and I lose fewer tools because of it. Easier to spot an eye-searing orange tool under the hood of my truck than if it is a darker colored one! there are still some crazy priced orange stuff out there as well.

mine will be once ims comes out with a new tank for my bike some time in august. trying to make a street legal version of the pro circuit kawis.

damn....is it going to be a sleeper or will it be obvious what it is? those full on pro bikes are a little "twitchy" for street riding, aren't they?

I had a lot of green stuff because I was the only one in the shop with it. I figured it would be easy to locate tools that other guys borrowed. I never realized it was a collector thing until I found this website. I sold most of my Snap-on green stuff when I left pro wrenching. I won't go out of my way now to find green stuff to match what I currently have.

+1

Although I don't have any Snap On green, I have other green tools for that same reason (plus it's one of my favorite colors, so why not?)
