What is the timeline and story on these? Have a few at work along with one battleship grey one.

I know that they released a set for the 80th Anniversary, and also a Indy 500 commentary set. New sets sealed in the wrapper can go for $250+ on ebay.

They are highly collectable and rare.

I just passed up a sealed set for $100 off craigslist. Sometimes they may sell for $250 eBay and sometimes they go for $99 and the seller has to pay the eBay commission out of that.

I bought a set of the indy 500 ones off the truck around '86 or '87. they were a limited release. The handles were pearl with gold lettering. I actually used them for a couple of years then sold them. I really hated the snap on square handle design. If you had any grease or oil on your hands you couldn't grip the handle.

I've got a set... But they've been opened and are in my box. I don't believe much in "highly collectible" tools. That said, I use them for clean work... I'm not using them to pry out greasy seals or anything.
