I've heard this mentioned before but still can't find info on exact product.
My customer will love when I'm done with the Poly top coat but will want to put a sacrificial wax or finish over the Poly clear.
What should I suggest they use and how often?

You can use an acrylic wax, however will be slippery when wet/oily. Our product is CherryWax, matte or gloss.

Can be re-applied as needed.

I don't want to make it slippery at all. I read somewhere there is a coating you can top coat your top coat with that acts as a sacrificial coat for scratches and will provide a disposable layer that will protect the poly top.
Maybe I misunderstood whoever I heard about this from...

Wax would be the sacrificial layer, best used where floors are not wet.

We find that topcoat is a sacraficial layer. Over time it will wear a bit so just re tpcoat as necessary. If topcoat is maintained the floor should last indefinitely.
