What’s left of my rolling Craftsman tool box. One of my list that they quit making.

I may yet get another year out of the box. Using it now to catch my overflows & miscellaneous.

Maybe try this, I discovered recently by accident. After washing and drying thoroughly try a heat gun. You have to be extremely careful, not warp it, just barely enough heat brings back color taking fading away.

P.S. What is this thread even about? My Craftsman toolbox is old and served me well???
It’s vintage and has patina from use but I may get rid of it next year because I don’t like how it looks.........but I still use it???

I didn't say I didn't like how it looked. I was simply making mention of it having been a good toolbox. I wish I had been able to get another of it. Take a few chill pills and an Ex Lax.

Not at all worth doing since the top and trays are long since gone. It will still hold a few odd tools in the corner of my shed until it finally breaks.

This was an excellent box for working on large commercial jobs with concrete floors all over. Easy to move around, carried a lot of stuff, reasonably well organized. Had the best trays I had ever seen. Weatherproof top with a V groove, good for cutting pipe & strut.

Also used it on a service van for a good while.

How about writing better messages that are less ambiguous so we can actually understand the point of your post- and perhaps help you? Look at the other messages before my actual post.

No one has a clue what you are talking about.

I took it s a sort of "Ode on a Grecian Urn" type post, except about an old plastic toolbox...

Looks like it’s served you well. Tool boxes ain’t supply be pretty. If you have a pretty box then you probably spend more time polishing your tool than working.

sounds like you agonize over throwing worn out stuff in the trash.

Have you checked eBay? Those were called SST for sit stand tote...I have one that the latches broke on it so now a bungee cord holds it all together and closed. It is a good box.

out of curiosity which would you choose between these two to replace it?

Objection, badgering.

I replaced it with Ridgid stack units. I like them OK but wish they had better trays. The Craftsman had the best trays I had ever seen. Would be good too if Ridgid had a longer handle but it is a good solid box. Totally weatherproof except for the milk crate on top.

I think I’ve seen these at Lowe’s. Roughly same size. Not too bad. I still watch E Bay, Craigslist & yard sales for one like I had. I’ll buy one if I see it & give it to my daughter. She would love it.
