SAE meaning for wrenches

I did some seaching but did not find anything. What does it mean when wrenches are identified as "SAE" wrenches?

Society of Automotive Engineers, this is a general term meaning standard in inches and not metric.
ISO controls metric wrench tolerances, ASME controls inch wrench tolerances. ASME is American Society of Mechanical Engineers, lots of crossover between ASME & SAE.
