Anyone store fuel, etc....
Just curious do you use a metal can or plastic..

Metal Cans tend to leak over time...thinking about switching over the Plastic Type I cans...

I need to get a better look at the Uno cans.

The 2 plastic Blitzs I use for the small engine tools are garbage.
And the metal just stays where it is...I'm tired of my metal one.

One day I'll just put them on the sidewalk and I'm sure they will be gone in a hrs time...

I've got several plastic ones and one metal one. I bought the metal one to fit in the holder on my jeep.

I found a link a while back where someone had taken a leaking metal can and cut the side out. He used it to store a stereo and speakers. Unfortunately I can't find the picture now.

Blitz USA was sued by a family here after their kid got burned playing with gasoline.

The parents should be jailed for letting the kid play with gasoline. Unless of course he was old enough to be a certified pyro in which case it is his own fault for getting burned.:spit:

I have had a 2 gallon metal can for over 30 years with no leaks. I use a 5 year old plastic jug for my 2-cycle mix.

I have 3 gas jugs I use. 2 5 gallon plastic race jugs and 1 metal can that is over 30 years old. Then I have a few 1 gallon ones for mix gas. I hate the new no spill jugs cause you spill more fuel with them.

The UNO ones I was looking at...spring loaded cap design from a brief look.
It's shaped like the trigger so as you hold the handle, you just pull back on the *secondary handle/release* which opens up the cap.

If you guys have used cans extensively...post what works and what doesnt

I was just looking in my storage area and I have two 5 gallon metal kerosene cans I could use in a pinch. One of them is an old "Delphos, Quality Galvanized Ware" can that is dirty but in good shape, not rusty at all. It would probably look better on a shelf. The other one is a modern metal kerosene can with a "do not use for storage of gasoline" on it. Is the only problem that it has is not being painted red and yellow?

All I have ever used is the cheap plastic ones from tractor supply in various sizes. The old kind without the enviro friendly nozzles, those ****.

I'd stop looking at the residential grade stuff and look to what the military uses every day.
The best can is going to be a 20L NATO military fuel can. They are constructed of thick steel and the interior is lined with a rubber like material. The top of the can has a rubber gasket to prevent air from coming in.

These cans are built like tanks. They cost anywhere from $25.00 to $50.00 a can depending on where you buy them and their condition. I lucked out and bought 4 new ones for $130.00 after shipping. You can store fuel in them for about two years easy because they are air tight.
