Safety goggles and glasses - recommendations?

I frequently end up working in crawlspaces under homes and have to drill/screw/hammer while laying on my back straight over my eyes and end up dodging and squinting to avoid getting **** in my eyes.

What do you guys use to protect your eyes while working under the house (or car or other)?

I sometimes use goggles when using my makita wire wheel (or full face shield - I know I should always use it with those things as a wire can easily fly off and get in your eye) but when I go under the house I usually don't have enough room to manuever and keep a face sheild on and I usually forget to take the goggles with me... lazy I know...

What is the most comfortable and effective eye protection you use? Glasses / goggles / full face sheild?

I use Snap On's Goggle1, very comfortable it was about $20.

I buy the Pyramex™ V2G® Safety Glasses with Clear Anti-Fog Lens for our guys in our metal fab shop. It's good and keeping all of the **** out of their eyes while grinding.

My preference is for any decent brand "wrap-around" style glasses, usually sourced from Wurth.

Besides that, I would just offer that the best protective equipment is the one you are most likely to use. If it's not comfortable, convenient and quick, it is much easier to 'forget' your PPE. So when you find a pair you like, either hang on to them (I am incapable of this) or buy a few pairs.

I don´t know. There is no COO on the glasses or package.

The "Uvex" products sold in the US are different because "Uvex USA" belongs not to "Uvex Germany" (Uvex USA = Sperian). Uvex products sold in the US are all (?) made in the US.

Look for eyewear that meet all three impact certifications: ANSI Z87.1, OSHA, and the tough military MIL-V-43511C

Products from UVEX and ESS meet most of these or all three. UVEX may be less pricy than ESS.

I don't think you can go wrong with Uvex glasses - I also have a light duty Fibre-Metal faceshield for grinding (and the rare occasions that I fire up the Weedeater).

I prefer real glass.

They almost never scratch and will not fog with harsh cleaners or if you get brake fluid, etc. on them.

And, they last forever.

I have a bunch of Uvex Genesis. They have a bunch of different types of lenses and different frame colors (if you are picky about how they look). I was able to pick them up for pretty cheap too, like $2 each. Seems Home Depot or Lowes must have cleared them out for dirt cheaper or something since at (Carlisle) swap meets the past few years there were LOTS of vendors selling them for anywhere from $2 up to $5.

Ive been looking at some of the ESS stuff. Mostly because they can have an rx carrier snapped into them and essentialy make them into perscription goggles.

These are what im looking at right now http://www.esseyepro.com/ICE_35_category.html Thinking about getting a set of the tactiCOOL lookin gogles (ESS Profile because they will accept the same Rx carrier as the ice glasses) and If I dont like them oh well because I can always use them for airsoft.

At home I use some Smith sunglasses with interchangable lenses. They fit well and off good protection for eyes, but are too small for mush else. They are impact rated.

both are under $12 (amazon) At the time I bought them they both were amazon prime.....now it looks like just the bottom (body glove) are prime. I like the style of them, they offer good eye coverage, they don't fog up on me and they are optical correct without any distortion IMO

I wear dewalt brand safety glasses everyday at work. They are styled after the oakley m frames. Very comfortable.
