I've been looking for a pair of goggles to pair with a 3M half-mask respirator, and I'll be ordering online, so there's a fair amount of guesswork involved.

I was considering the "3M GoggleGear 500 Series Safety Goggles" despite the mixed reviews, largely because of brand recognition and lack of familiarity with alternatives. However, I haven't seen any mention of them in the forum. Any feedback on them would be greatly appreciated, as would alternative recommendations. Uvex in particular seems well liked by many. The Flex and Stealth models often seem mentioned.

I don't need one that accomodates glasses. I probably won't be wearing them for more than an hour at time, and not all that often either, if that makes any difference.

What do you like best, and why?

How much dust, and what kind of vapor?

Big difference between mowing the dirt and keeping harmful chemical vapors away from eyes.
Good point. I omitted that part because I'm mostly looking for feedback and comparisons on such things as fit, comfort, and optical clarity among safety goggles advertising similar levels of protection. But that's a considerate response because many readers asking similar questions might better be served by a different form of protection entirely.
