Im trying to replace the hard lines on a BMW steering rack (the lines that come WITH the rack)
They have a part number but they are on intergalactic backorder from germany. I thought id try and make them myself (they are rusty)
I have the mastercool flaring set, and if I make a 1/4" push connect, trim the end, and then hit it with the 45 degree cone, it makes a flare that looks very close, but the OD of the tubing where the Oring sits is too fat. If you look at my picture you will see the stock line is crushed down smaller than the OD of the line, to give the oring a place to sit. If I try to tighten the line down with "my" flare, the o ring is too large in diameter and it slices the o ring.
Does anyone make the tool for doing this flare?
