I have just started a garage addition/remodel and was looking for a rolling tool chest to put all my tools in so I could clear out my garage. I looked at the US General models recommended here at Harbor Freight (only had 54" version not the 72") today as well as the Kobalt, Husky, etc. None are really the level of the Snap-On/Matco professional chests I have seen but I don't really use it for a living.

I happened upon the Craftsman glide-lock model at Sears and saw the 52" version was on sale for $1499 for the top 9 drawer unit and the bottom 14 drawer unit in black. I went home to find some coupons online and found that the combo was on sale today online-only for $940! I just picked up the bottom unit and the top is due in later this week. Very happy with this find.

Biggest problem with these are depth. The base is only 18", and the inside drawer measurement is only 16 1/2"

Dont want to burst your bubble, but the box is on sale 24/7/365 for $1K, I can't remember the last time it was not on sale.

Looks like a good deal, I didn't see any mention of how long the sale will last. Let us know what you think of the quality once you get it. My current craftsman are a complete disappointment compared to my costco boxes which shouldn't be the case..

A deeper box may be nice, but I could live with the depth. The main drawback for me with this box is that although it's a nice wide box it is just two banks of ~2' drawers with no wide drawers. in a 53" box I'd want wide drawers to store some of my bars and various things that are 3'-4', which is my issue with the two 41" costco boxes I'm using. And why I'm looking to upgrade to the 53"+ range..

Keep us posted!

I've been eyeing the montezuma 56" combo on sale $1485 right now with free shipping and no tax.

I am upgrading from my Craftsman ball bearing set to US General 45" set. I like the thickness of the metal better than the larger boxes. The more expensive CM stuff is OK but price wise it isn't competitive imo.
