Salt free water softeners

My Arizona folks who have to deal with hard water. Who has the best salt or salt free water softeners. I dont want to go somewhere or someone come out cause all they're worried about is the sale. Who have you used with success and got rid of this awful tasting water. Im looking for one for my whole house. Single story 1277 sqft home in Casa Grande.

Why do you think a salt type is unsafe?
Casa Grande is a pretty good sized town.
What is the typical install?

Just it back flushing into the water system all that salt. It may not do anything, just me thinking to much.

Not sure what the regulations are there but you might be able to dump the regeneration water onto the ground or into a dry well.

I have been putting my back flush into the septic tank of 2 different houses for over 30 years without any problems.
It is not all that salty.

If it is a city sewer system it will be even more diluted.

You are over thinking this.

We have hard water up in Northern AZ too, but no taste issues that I am aware of.

I won't do salt, the regen water is a part. I've read some municipalities have had problems with the regen into their systems. The other is health. I helped a friend change out his system after his Doctors asked about water softening.

Have you tested your water to see what is in it?

You could tee in a carbon filter to get rid of taste issues. Softening usually dials down the calcium content with ion replacement.
