Salt Pits--Fill and Coat?

I live in Minnesota. Need I say more? I have bad pitting in all four tracks of our 2-car garage. I do not need a fancy solution. I want to fill the pits and coat the floor with something that will repel the salt-attack. It would be nice if the coating is compatible with epoxy, should I decide to do that someday. This house is about 35 years old, original concrete. m

i see people using sikaflex to fill control joints... might work for this as well, but i would let the experts chime in.

Sikaflex would not work for that purpose. It’s not a wear surface, more like a flexible, self leveling caulk. When used to fill expansion joints it’s top surface should be below the top of the joint.

If the pitting is isolated to certain areas the repair will be relatively easy using a patch kit. If it is widespread there are several options. You could do a slurry coat. Grinding, then repairing is the best option.
