Slat wall standards

I’ve never installed any slat wall plank systems in any of my garages So my experience with their construction material and finishes as well as sizing is limited. Now I’m thinking an area of my current garage this could work well.

Question - are all slat walls sizing the same? Is there an accepted standard so various accessories from different manufactures are interchangeable? Or proprietary? Who are the larger players with the most consistent product?

Mainly want to hang some cabinetry and ladder in corner or garage while having the slats look nice as well.

I have hung thousands of sheets of slat I do not remember any being a proprietary channel size ,, ,, I have seen some slat so cheap the fronts peel off with any substantial load.
so be a little discerning in the quality you choose , I may look for a fixture store or used building materials place
I went around AZ,NM, a month ago closing stores and I bet I discarded 40 sheets of that stuff ,, some of it was only a few months old smh

personally I hate slat I use the wire rack systems myself or evendiaond plate metal peg board

There is no standard. Slat spacing is typically 3" or 6". Every manufacturer has their own variation on groove profile and dimensions. Some are T-slots. Some are L-slots. Some have 3/8" grooves in the face, some have 1/2", etc.

I just installed a bunch of brushed aluminum Proslat brand panels because I was worried about the typical MDF panels deteriorating with moisture. The benefit is that the aluminum vomes with a much higher load rating. I had to buy a bunch of samples of different hangers to find which non-proslat brands worked.
