I've searched and read a number of concrete sealer threads, but I'm wondering what would be recommended for a salt water pool concrete broomed deck? So, it's exposed to salt water and we want to make sure it stays grippy to prevent slips. Any recommendations?

Thank you.

We use a product called SaltGuard to protect concrete sidewalks against winter salt. I used it on the concrete walls of my sand shed where I store salted sand. It seems to work well and doesn't change the color of the concrete.

You could be able to find it at a construction supply house like HD Supply or WhiteCap

Yep, SaltGuard works well. I applied it to the flagstone pool deck at my parent's house. They have a saltwater pool and have not had any issues with the deck.

My grandparents lived on the North Shore near Boston. The is,and had a limited water supply so the fire dept would fill pools with seawater. Aside from being very salty, the water was fine.

Wait, theres people that purposely swim in salt water?
It’s kind of a miss used term. A “salt water pool” takes salt and uses an electric “salt cell” to convert it to chlorine to sanitize the water. A “salt water pool” is still a chlorine pool.

As said above, there is a very big difference in levels of salt between the ocean and a “salt water” pool, obviously not including the very few that may be pumping water in from the ocean. It’s a little less than 10% of the salt of the ocean.

100%. SaltGuard by Prosoco is the ****. Every new construction build that I’m around up here I try to talk to homeowner or GC into letting me apply SaltGuard to their exterior exposed concrete. Heavy chloride gets used around here. Recommended to recoat every 2-3 years. Spray it on, 2 coats wet-on-wet, walk away

You could also spray Ballistix with the non skid in it, completely impervious to salt.

I have a textured concrete apron around my salt water pool. (Different look, but comparable to broom finish). No sealer and there are no ill effects from the pool water. And it's dyed a light brown and there are no effects to the color either. As CSR said, the salt is used to chlorinate the pool. With that said, the wet footprints on the racedeck floor in my garage stain a light white color from the salt. I just mop them up.
