As the title implies, I've got 2x 1.5HP AC motors that, instead of a NEMA end plate, are siamesed to (broken) water pumps. I keep thinking there has to be a way to salvage the motors but... dunno.
Anyone have experience here?
I'd love to run a 1.5 horsepower belt-driven buffer / grinder setup but need to get the motors free and mountable first.

BTDT back in the po'boy days. I used a band saw to cut two semi-circular cradles from 2" oak, screwed them to a base of 3/4" plywood and used large stainless band clamps to hold down the motors. Worked fine.

FWIW, wait until you see the shafts on your motors to begin designing. Some shafts are very short, some are threaded instead of smooth, some motors aren't reversible.

Who makes the motors? Can you snap a pic of the mounting face and the nameplate on the motor?
