If you look in thier website, there is an option for gold wire wheels:

#040106 Daytons Option

I keep walking past these at Costoco and they are hard to resist. If I didn't already have 3 Craftsman boxes, I'd get them.

That's what happened to me. I bought the Craftman 3 boxes but did not open it. Another 3 weeks came and it was still sealed due to my garage renovation. Well, when I saw the 56" at Costco I went and returned the Craftsman and went back to Costco. The rest is history.

I have the Sams version which the wife got me for my birthday. If I where to buy one I would lean towards the Costco one because of the drawer layout. Which I am just going by the pictures.

No the Sam's Club box is actually the one with the better (smaller) drawers. The Costco box has all the deep drawers, however the biggest box at Sam's is the 41" wide so if you need something bigger you will have to go elseware.

That's what I said too when I bought my first tool chest. I guest it shrunk after 10 years.

What location are you finding the Sam's box for ~$530? It's around $649 at mine. Also, how much is that larger version at costco?

Thanks,

Sam

The 41" chestes were $530 at Sam's as of several months ago, I'm not sure what they are going for now.

I bit the bullet...and bought the stainless steel rolling tool chest from Sams over the weekend....

It is sweet! Shallow drawers galore. One deep drawer on the bottom.
If you buy it, make sure you look it over before you attach the wheels or remove the plastic metal protector...make sure you don't tear or throw away the box either.

I had to take the first chest I bought back to Sam's because it had had a dent. They replaced it with a new one...

HI! I'm a new kid on this site. I got one of the Sams Club stainless steel tool chest about 1 1/2 years ago. It has the "Steel Glide"name on it (what ever that is!) It is 41" wide, 61" high, 18" deep, 14 drawers, all full width except for the top row which has 3 drawers. Two fixed, two pivoting castors with wheel locks. Upper & lower key locks. Four handles. It came with the drawer padding material cut to size. I think the price was $654.00. I've seen several variations of SS chests at Sams. The latest one was like mine but, had a better (in my opinion) style top lid. When the top is opened on mine, you have to reach over the front lip to get at the tools. The newer one has a lid that gives you a flat shelf when opened. I like it alot, it looks nice, not as likely to rust (although the unseen part of the drawers are not stainless) Moisture is a big problem in Florida. It is a real nice replacement for my 30 plus year old Craftsman. It is probably $300 cheaper than comparable Home Depot, Lowes, or Sears chests. A friend of mine got one from Sams about a year before me. His has a different drawer arrangement, more drawers that don't go all the way across like mine do.

I think I saw one for $530 at Sams a while back but as I recall. It wasn't as deep or as tall as the one I got.

You guys are great. I really need to get my floor done and already have a few tool boxes. After that picture and the flash hitting that stainless tool box, I need to get that box. What time is Sam's open too. Do you know if you can get one in carbon fiber. ha,ha
