I saw these tools on sale at my local Sam's club i believe they are all part of there black Friday stuff so they are clearances them out. They have the bostitch mechanics tool chest marked down to $80 and they have the stanley fat max screwdriver set marked down to $18 and they have the screwdriver gun marked down to $30. I am guessing they will be marking down the prices again in the coming weeks because they are not moving at all. I will probably be picking these up when they mark these down a second time but the prices are not that bad right now tho.

The bostitch wrenches are basically the same as Dewalt's, just made in China instead of Taiwan. Don't know about the ratchets and sockets, but it's logical to assume they might be similar.

At what cost?

Studies have shown that one Walmart "super store" may cost local governments as much as $1 million dollars annually in public subsidies for health care, food stamps, etc., due to substandard Walmart wages.

Walmart also has a history of driving local small retailers out of business and then leaving the market - leaving no local retail source as evidenced by their recent announcement that they are closing 269 stores.

**** the Waltons, they are parasites not capitalists.

If that screwdriver keeps coming down I might grab it. I've been looking for a dinky little screw gun to keep at work for fastening / unfastening ECM harnesses. It just has to drive a 4mm cap head screw to hand tight so even if it's garbage it would probably still work.

The battery powered screwdriver is down to $15 which is a steal. Also they have a black and Decker 5 piece Matrix power tool set really nice with a case for $70 was over $170 which i think is a steal at the new price as well.

Here is a pic of what pieces you get it. This set is like the craftsman bolt-on power tool.

I don't understand why so many people criticize Walmart but not any of the other big box stores?? What do you think happened to all of the mom & pops hardware stores when Home Depot started springing up everywhere? Is Target really that much better than Walmart?

Same with McDonalds, nobody ever criticizes Burger King or Wendy's. Hell, Burger King doesn't even sell a non-processed chicken sandwich.

Every big box store has the same goal: profit.

Edit: btw I don't shop at Walmart often either, but it's because of lack or quality merchandise (too much cheap Chinese ****)

I have examined both brands of wrenches in local stores. While I can't tell about alloy and temper, the Taiwanese Dewalt wrenches appeared to have excellent workmanship and finish. The Chinese Bostitch had widely varying degrees of bend in the smaller size box ends (zero to good) and some even had chrome peel.

In contrast, the Bostitch pass through sockets and ratchets are made in Taiwan, probably by High Five, and seem to be high quality.

Don't know about the other Bostitch hand tools.

You have a point but Walmart perfected the model of killing all local competition when opening a store. It is well documented on how they would set prices below competitors, at their loss, to start a pricing war local businesses could not compete until they were out of business.
