I have been visiting this site for quite some time and decided it was time to post photos of my garage. It was built in April and May of 2009 and I have been doing the interior and miscellaneous upgrades since then. It is 24'x26' and is fully insulated. The heater is a SpaceRay natural gas 50,000 btu radiant unit which easily keeps it warm for my Mustang on the coldest day.

What's behind the door? Everything not Mustang related; yard tools, blower, trimmer etc.

Well done, and nice car! I always wanted to have 67 gt-390.
By the way, one thing took my atention and it was that you build the garage in only 2 months. I know that the constructions system is very fast in USA but it allways shocks me when I hear that. Here we built out of bricks and concret so we have to wait until the concret is ready (I don't know the correct word in english) So The same kind of garage here would take at least 4 months!!!
Take care and keep posting pics of the upgrades!

I like it a lot! Is that hardiplank siding? Did you build it yourself? Without being too nosey may I ask your budget and did you come in on budget when all was finished?

The 24x26 garage was stick built by a local contractor of 2x4's on 16" centers with wood trusses on 24" centers. Roof is tongue and groove 15/16 OSB. Exterior walls are 9/16 OSB with vinyl siding. The ceiling is nine feet clear height. Approximate cost including concrete slab, framing, exterior walls, roof and exterior pad was +/- $19,500. I did all of the finish work including interior walls which are insulated with R13 and ceiling with R19 fiberglass insulation and covered with 7/16" OSB. No plans to paint the OSB. Thats why I did not use drywall; hate painting. An electrician ran the underground 60 amp service and provided and installed nine fluorescent light fixtures and six receptacles for $1,800. The local gas company ran natural gas underground to the garage and provided and installed the heater for $1,850 and I paid an electrician $50 to hook up the power and control wiring that I had already installed. The work bench tops are plywood with laminate covering and were free as my office was getting rid of them. The two large windows were free and were salvaged from a local project that had removed them to install louvers. They are aluminum framed with insulated glass. One face of the glass is translucent to let light but does not allow anyone to see inside. I recently added a storm door which was on sale at Lowe's so I can leave the door open for ventilation but keeps the insects out.
I had the 8x9 garage door installed with enough room to allow the door of my Mustang to open fully and not hit the wall. This still left a lot of room on the other side for the work bench and tool boxes.
Both my wife and I have really enjoyed the garage. It's a good place to get away from the house, listen to oldies on the radio and share a cold one. The little dog is Cassie who loves to "go to the garage with Daddy". Yes she is spoiled.

Thank you for the description and the pictures!

This is exactly what I plan on building next spring, single garage door, double wide, door in front. Heck... I even like the color!

Congrats!

Very well done! A great work space, very clean and a good bit of privacy. That's nice that both you and your wife enjoy it.
