Samson S Wrench

Digging around in my 'stuff' I ran across this wrench again.
I have seen the few 'Samson' listings here and elsewhere that I have searched, but I have not found any reference to "Samson Tool Company New York" anywhere. This 15/16 / 1 inch wrench is just marked 304 on one end and Samson Tool Company New York in the middle. Anybody have any clues of who, what and when this company existed? Thanks in advance for any info.
