Samson wrenches (not Lever-Jaws).

Found this 5.5-inch overall length combo wrench made by Samson today. Other than a couple DBEs and DOEs on e-bay I am not finding much about this company. Anyone have one of their wrenches or know about the manufacturer?

There was the Samson Wrench Company of LaCrosse, Wisconsin that started around 1929, but that seems a bit old for this wrench.

There is the Metal Engineering Company of Chicago that made the Samson Lever-Jaw wrench. Unsure if they made other wrenches?

okay, after getting sidetracked by the Metal Engineering Co. thread searching for "Samson" wrenches....

I have NO clue who made "Samson" wrenches - not your lovely combination wrench above, or any DBE's or DOE's you've found on ebay, and certainly not these little beauties that I found these images of in the wrong folder about an hour ago.

We know for sure it's not Metal Engineering Co. of Chicago. Or is it?.... They were outsourcing sockets and ratchets from Moore Drop Forge... why not wrenches? But they don't look anything like MDF production, do they?

Here's a few "Samson" possibilities, but trying to determine "who" from this list is akin to throwing a handful of bones on the ground next to the campfire.

I found a 1/2 x 9/16 DOE Samson wrench in a .25 box at a swap meet this weekend. Almost tappet wrench thin, 6 3/8"OAL, 3/16" thick on the ends, and not finely polished. Forged number OE202. The stampings are shallow and uneven, making me think it was made under contract. Reminded me of a Barcalo.

Here is a Samson of unknown vintage, derusted, no plating so was probably black oxide.
