I used this site for inspiration and downright stole some ideas. Its a work in progress but its getting there. I started November 1, 2013, the goal was to be done by Feb 1 2014 but March 1 is looking like more of a reality.

This is my first house, i bought it 4 years ago and my first major project so im trying to do any work that i can safely do myself. so far i've only had to have electricians do the electrical work and i will probably have a plumber do the plumbing as well.

Highlights of the garage will be.
Saber Steel Cabinets
Stainless Countertop
1.5 tub sink
2 tap kegerator with taps into 1/2 sink side
air cooled beer lines to the sink
beer glass rinser in 1/2 sink side
Racor Storage Racks
White Epoxy Floor
New Lighting and 220 power
Dog area that extends from garage to yard
hot/cold hose bib
Catgenie install in base cabinet- this is basically a toilet for the cat that hooks into your water and sewer system and does the dirty work for you. the idea is to put it in one of the base cabinets with a catdoor going into the back of the cabinet from an interior bathroom closet - it sounds crazy but should work.....hopefully.

anyway, here are some progress shots up until last night when we hung the upper cabinets

I really like the dog "kennel" inside and the cat idea.

I will do a similar thing in my garage for sure as I want my dog to have full indoor/outdoor access when I'm not home.

Impressed with the detail thus far. I'm thinking of roughly the same colors and like how it looks so far. Can't wait to see your progress. Please keep us posted!

Thanks for all the words of encouragement. Nice to see all the fellow San Dieganites. As far as the beer foes i was drinking Stone Smoked Porter in the pic but i usually have Stone ipa or Ballast Point Sculpin on tap.

Got some work done the last couple of weeks, mainly painted the curb and put in the dog gate. the porch potty for the dogs came in that will be going outside, the idea is to stop them from going on the concrete and creating a smell in the dog run. it will hook up to my sprinkler system for the timer function and a drain to become self washing. Im not doing the cat genie anymore. The product worked great but after 2 months of trying my cat refuses to use it and was starting to other spots in the house to retaliate. instead were just going to put some kind of other automated litter box in there. good news is now i dont need to run plumbing to the cabinet.

also sourced the stainless countertop for free. It was ordered for a restaurant build and didn't get used. I needed 10'4" its 10'6", perfect size and free

here are some pics

update on the project, finished doing the lower cabinets and the cat door that comes from inside our downstairs bathroom closet to the cabinet that will contain the litter box. Plumbing is also almost finished, this weekend the goal is to get the countertop and the sink and beer glass washer installed.

I really love the soffit design above the wall cabinets. Plus it looks like it acts as a function shelf above.

Thanks, yeah i did do it myself, its pretty easy. I used a product that removed the curing compound that was down on the concrete from when they built my house and etched the surface at the same time. i didn't see the need to grind, the surface was pretty open but its never a bad idea to do so.
I'd love to drink your beer but I cant help anyone for a while, the wife is about to have our second kid in a couple of weeks and i have to finish the babys room.

anyway more progress was made over the last couple of weeks.
