Does anyone know how to tell these two apart ? Apparently the rods and crank are different and in some cases the main sheave is for a B belt on the 165. I have what I think a 165 apart right now, but I would like to be sure that it is in fact 165. Thanks in advance.

My Sanborn 130 has a sticker on it from the factory. It's near the bottom and about 1.5" square. But I am guessing that you don't have one of those.

Other than that, I think you hit the nail on the head with regards to the crank and rods being different. I bet that there is a casting number on the rods or crank that will let you identify which you have, but you'd need to talk to someone like mastertoolrepair.com to find out how to interpret the numbers.

Sorry I could not be of more help.

Casting #s don't correspond to the actual part #s, at least on the pump I am working on.

That's why I recommend that you contact Master Tool Repair -- to see if they can tell you which casting number matches up to which part number or pump model.
