Does anyone know the cfm specs on this unit? I have a lead on one for $200, but the seller does not know the specs and he is two hours away.

Per MasterToolRepair's site:

•Min RPM 700
•Max RPM 1200
•Max pressure 125 psi
•Max duty cycle 50%
•Oil capacity 18 oz.
•130 Pump 6.0 cfm @ 90psi (2 HP motor)
•165 Pump 10.1 cfm @ 90spi (5 HP motor)
•39 lbs.
•Torque specs (see Schematic on "Description" tab)
•For 2-4.5HP units, you have a 130 pump
•For 5HP and greater they call it a 165 pump. The only difference is the crankshaft and connecting rods.

Contact the seller and find out what size motor it is and then go from there. Just my $0.02, I wouldn't drive two hours for that compressor. You can get a brand new one at Lowes, Home Depot, Menards, etc with better specs for under $500. I just got a US General from craigslist for $275 and it does 12.85cfm @ 90 psi.

I have a 1993 model Sanborn 5hp 60 gal tank that I rescued for $100. It needed some TLC. The drain valve was rusted shut, and the regulator needed replacement. It was in a shed encrusted with bird **** etc. I cleaned it up and repainted it. I believe mine is about 11 cfm. I am very happy with it. BTW made in USA

Can you provide some additional information about the motor itself? Pictures always help. In general, you tend to get out of this forum what you put in. A low effort post with little in the way of information (let alone punctuation, sentence structure, etc) will not typically encourage a big response.

So you’re going to rail on a guy - who was new at the time mind you- for no good reason about his sentence structure and not making enough of an effort for your liking, only to go crickets when he gets the info you asked for? I just made an account to ask, because I’m wondering if that’s how yall do things on this forum, or if maybe you were just having a bad day?

Hi. Welcome to the forum. I'm glad you're here, though I'm sorry the reason is that you felt compelled to call me out on a single comment on a years old thread.

There are all kinds on this forum (just like most forums) and I hope you don't let a single post by anyone color your impression of an entire group of people. That will make your internet experience terrible.

I've been on GJ quite a few years now. I'm here nearly every day, and I've made over 3,200 posts. With the exception of a few jokes here and there and the odd argument thrown in, they have vastly been attempts to help others. Go ahead and take a read through my post history. Pick at random. But keep reading, don't just pick one. If you want to judge my character, base it on my contributions as a whole, not on a single comment you cherry picked because it rubbed you the wrong way.

Regarding that one comment, I can admit it wasn't very welcoming and is actually pretty out of character for me. Maybe your "bad day" theory wasn't far off. In trying to think about why I may have said that, perhaps it was because many, many, many people find Garage Gournal by first Googling a problem they have, so they quickly make an account so they can ask their question here. Quite often without context, or pictures, or taking the time to think through what information might be necessary to help others help them. They just want to put in the minimum amount of effort to get their answer and go on with their project. Once they get their answer, they will never be back. Not to say thanks, or to follow up with how the solution went, and certainly not to keep contributing to the forum and help others.

As I mentioned, I'm here every, single, day. I see this a lot. I can't tell you how many times I have taken the time to provide a thoughtful response, only for there to be no follow up, and for it to be the last post a user ever makes. And it doesn't just happen to me. But, I can't really expect every single new poster is here to become a dedicated lifetime contributor. Sometimes, people just need their answer and they'll move on. But when that does happen, my hope is that a new poster who is savvy enough to search the internet for a solution to their problem, find a relevant forum, create an account, and make a post, that they could spend the extra few seconds to provide some history/context/explanations in hopes of getting the best answer.

I guess I could have ignored the post (like many other, probably wiser folks do) and gone on with my day, but I decided to respond and provide the user with some suggestions on how to get a better response. It did come out a little harsh. And in retrospect, I should have checked that it was the user's first post and seen that and they couldn't yet post pictures.

Anyway, I hope this doesn't turn in to yet another one of those posts I take the time to respond to, only for you to dissappear never to be heard from again :)
