Sanborn Air Compressor 755H pump Intake Filter mod?

I have Purchased a Sanborn 60 Gallon air compressor, which comes with a 755H pump, The intake air filter that it comes is pretty useless, has anyone modified it to accept a 1/2 NPT canister filter type? I would like to use a Filter Silencer

I have same compressor , same problem. Guess we could just make a plate to fit, drill & tap.

If you are thinking about something temporary now I agree, fix your current compressor which is really simple and cheap to do and get another one like a 5 gallon portable. They're good for doing a lot of stuff including running tools non-continuously and only use your big one when needed. You...

It's not exactly how I would do it but it is the general idea. If you can't weld I'm sure some epoxy could attach the plate to a correct sized pipe. Low profile pipe nuts might also work with some silicone to seal things up.

Id remake the head with an npt port.
