Has anyone heard of this brand? I am trying to buy one found a nice one model 51-23-60V, according to their site it is a 5HP 60gal. 23CFM displacement compressor. Are those numbers accurate? at 23CFM that is probably free air displacement, I should be able to expect 15CFM @90 psi out of it no? Also it doesn't show amperage anyone know if that is a true 5hp motor?

I assume you mean single phase 240v? 5hp = 3.72kw. 3720w / (240v*0.85p.f.) = 18.2 on a really efficient motor. I would think it would be closer to 20 - 22a @ 240v.

60V is just the model number the compressor is a 220v motor, the motor on it looks HUGE though.

I was just posting in the hopes someone had one, 23CFM displacement sounds high for a 5hp no?

I'm worried its 23CFM free air with low numbers around 10CFM @ 90PSI.

220 230 240 its the same. Its just a nominal rating.

If its a truly efficient compressor, you're looking at probably 20 cfm at 90 psi. (HP x 4 is the general rule in the industry)

Do you think its a decent buy @ $200?

I currently have a early 90s Campbell Hausfeld 60gal 9.5CFM @90PSI with a "fake" 6hp motor using 15amps, by the time I upgrade that motor and pump I will be past the $200 mark..

the seller is gonna provide me with the amperage on the motor, if it is a 20-24amp motor, that and the tank alone will be worth the price. and I can slap a 5hp 2 stage pump on it.

Sanborn has been around forever, many of their pumps get re-branded in the big box stores.

Is it a single-stage or a two-stage pump?

Your "fake" 5HP is probably more like 3 "real" HP... So it's a little step up. If the tank is in good shape and everything else is overall okay, then $200 seems a good enough deal.

23 CFM is probably free air like you mentioned (if it is a single-stage). A single-stage 5HP is usually in the 12-18 CFM @ 90/100 PSI depending on the pump size.

Well I need 13CFM @ 23PSi for my HVLP so I would say 12-14CFM @ 40PSI is a safe amount, and I need 10CFM @ 100PSI for my sandblaster, so if the compressor can do 15CFM @ 90PSI i think it will be perfect for my needs.

Now the question is how noisy the thing is...

My current compressor is splash lubricated, but has no intake silencer and you can't speak to a person anywhere near the compressor or in the same room while it is running.

I know pictures can be deceiving, but that motor looks HUGE, at least compared to my fake 6 hp motor, and the compressor has a nice BIG base for the motor and compressor in case I need to upgrade the pump.

Don't judge the motor by size alone. I've got an old compressor motor that's huge but it's only 2hp. It was built in 1957. I could put a modern 5hp motor inside it.

The only way to know for sure is the amp draw.

I think the pic says it all... For $200 I would be all over that thing.

It looks like a single-stage with the two air-intakes, but overall pretty nice. First Sanborn "Industrial" that I've seen.

This motor doesn't look to be from 1950's.

I've got a Sanborn 3hp single-phase, 11 gallon, horizontal. Bought it at Home Depot 20 years ago. Still works good.

On their site, they have a pdf file that shows the model number as being 1983 or later, so I know its a least a 1983 compressor.

So I got an update from the seller

The motor is a WEG motor says made in Brazil on it, it is a 21AMP motor runs at 3510RPM.

so it seems to be a true 5HP motor, and if the pump flows anywhere near 15CFM @ 90PSI it will be MORE than enough for my needs...

It is still an upgrade from the 15AMP motor I have... and I figured by the time I buy a new pump, motor, and weld a new base for the pump/motor I will be out much more money than $200

Bought it!!

Ill be taking some pictures shortly

the pump is a V210 @850rpm, so the pump speed is low, but I can't find any info on its specs.

The seller told me he ran DA and sprayed and it kept up no problem whats so ever.

I was caught off guard by the weight of the motor it is easily ~100lbs, we had to dismantle everything to get it off the truck, lol.
