Hey guys, maybe you can help me decide if i should by this compressor...

Its a Sanborn BLACK MAX air compressor, 5 hp, single phase, 80 gallon, two stage 17.9 @100psi.

Its used and for sale and i dont have the specs yet, but i was going to get a home depot 60gal for $400, and the Sanborn is the same price and of course being 2 stage maybe quieter and im sure too that it has more cfm.

I wanted 60 gal for the size, but i guess 80 for the price could find a home???

Please let me know what you thing as it might not last long, was thinking of getting yoday!!!

thanks. Dave.

I have a 60 gallon sanborn 220v that i have had for five years. They are made by coleman. I use the hell out of mine and it never skips a beat.

I had one with the V2 compressor design. It worked very well, filled the tank quickly and never broke in 6 years. The belt guard was quite cheesey, though. I did upgrade the pressure gauge as the original was inaccurate.

Sounds very similar to mine. Coleman/Sanborn Black max 2 stage 80 gal

I have had mine for 13 years and use it more than the normal personal shop. I have painted 3 complete cars a full size ford handicap van and a Grand Cherokee. Many smaller projects too, the only failure so far has been the "pop off valve" cannot remember the name of it but it cost $18 to stop a small leak:thumbup:

I can't complain

My dad has had a Sanborn since the early 80's. Still works awesome, wish he used it more now, but when I was living at home 20 years ago it got a work out all the time. Great deal for an 80 buy it.
